Dear HCL community,
Purple Cap — Ayush, 41 wickets
Ayush finishes Season 5 with 41 wickets, the most in the competition and the reason MSK kept winning matches their batting had not settled. No other bowler was close.
He saved the best for the biggest night. In the Final he took 3 for 47 and removed B. Harish, Sarvesh and Syed — the top of TVK's order — inside a spell that turned a 200-plus platform into 194 all out.
Ayush also contributed 708 runs at 54.5 with the bat, including 160 against TRS, so the Purple Cap winner was among MSK's leading scorers too.
Orange Cap — Arjun, 1,637 runs
Arjun ends Season 5 as its leading run scorer with 1,637 runs from 19 innings at an average of 86.2 — 120 clear of Sarvesh in second place.
His season had scale as well as weight: eight hundreds, five fifties and a best of 250. He passed 200 twice, with 207 against MSK on top of that 250.
He carried the form into the Final. With TVK three down cheaply, Arjun made 147 of their 194 and was the only batter to pass 20.
Player of the Tournament — Ayush
The Player of the Tournament award goes to Ayush. Forty-one wickets decided the shape of MSK's season, and his runs made him the rarest thing in HCL: a batter who also wins matches with the ball.
The Final made the case in one match — three top-order wickets that broke TVK's innings, in a game MSK won by 3 wickets.
Player of the Match, Final — Jaiprajen
Jaiprajen takes Player of the Match for the Final. Chasing 195, he made 126 and turned a target that had beaten MSK once already into a chase they controlled.
It followed his 117 in Qualifier 2, which put MSK into the Final in the first place. Two knockout hundreds in a row, and a title at the end of them.
Ayush is the Season 5 Player of the Tournament and Purple Cap winner, Arjun takes the Orange Cap, and Jaiprajen is Player of the Match in the Final.
